"WikiMarafon" Project
"WikiStipendiya" is a project aimed at developing the Uzbek language by expanding the database of Uzbek-language content on the internet and increasing the availability of information about Uzbekistan in various languages. This project is focused on helping young people develop skills in working with scientific and cultural information through Wikipedia.
Project Goals:
- Develop the database of Uzbek-language information on the internet.
- Increase the amount of information about Uzbekistan and its history in various languages.
- Enhance the global prestige of the Uzbek language.
Main Tasks of the Project:
- Foster a culture of contributing information to Wikipedia among young people.
- Improve the quantity and quality of content on Uzbek Wikipedia.
- Popularize Uzbekistan's cultural and historical heritage through articles in the Uzbek language.
Target Audience:
The project involves students and intellectuals engaged in scientific activities.
Project Components:
- Organizing marathons aimed at enriching Uzbek Wikipedia.
- Evaluating processes in collaboration with Wikipedia administrators.
- Creating and promoting audio and video content about the marathon to engage young participants.
Implementation Stages:
First Stage (March-April 2024):
- Promotion of the marathon, PR activities, team registration, development of marathon regulations, and organization of a press conference.
Second Stage (May-October 2024):
- Conducting the main phases of the marathon, engaging the most active teams in "WikiOromgoh" (WikiCamp), and selecting the top 30 teams.
Third Stage:
- Organizing a grand final among the top 30 teams to determine the winners and awarding the top three teams.
Expected Results:
- Increasing the number of articles on Uzbek Wikipedia to 400,000.
- Reaching the top 30 in the global wiki rankings.
- Promoting the contribution and usage of Wikipedia.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Number of articles on Uzbek Wikipedia: 400,000.
- Increasing the depth of article analysis from 32% to 40%.
- Reaching 700 active editors.
- Adding 150,000 new articles by the end of 2024.
- Gradually implementing the "WikiEducation" program in higher education institutions.
