“1000 Books for Youth” is a project aimed at enhancing the intellectual and scientific potential of young people. The goal of the project is to translate globally renowned books into Uzbek and make them widely available to the public. This project introduces youth to the latest achievements in modern science and culture.

Project Foundations

The “1000 Books for Youth” project was initiated by the Agency for Youth Affairs based on Presidential Decree No. PQ-380 dated November 28, 2023.

Project Objectives

• Support the intellectual growth of youth by acquainting them with modern scientific and cultural achievements.
• Develop and promote reading by translating popular books into Uzbek.
• Increase young people’s interest in knowledge and broaden their horizons.

Key Tasks of the Project

• Translate and publish the most popular books across various genres.
• Encourage youth to read and enhance their intellectual capacity.
• Widely promote the culture of reading.

Target Audience

The primary audience of the project includes young people aged 14 to 30, including school students, lyceum and college students, and university students.

7. Adventure stories
8. Science fiction and fantasy
9. Short stories

Implementation Stages

1. Compile a preliminary list of books by the expert council.
2. Conduct public voting to select books.
3. Review and approve the selected books by the expert council.
4. Obtain copyright and publish the books.

Expected Outcomes

• Promote and develop a culture of reading among youth.
• Increase the quantity and quality of translated books.
• Provide young people with modern knowledge and skills.
