The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On State Youth Policy” dated September 14, 2016 marked an important milestone in the fundamental reform of youth-oriented policy in the country. This document established a unified legal framework for state youth policy and reinforced reforms in this area institutionally, legally, and financially.
The main purpose of the law is to legally regulate Uzbekistan's state youth policy and to define state-guaranteed conditions for the intellectual, spiritual, economic, and social development of the younger generation. For the first time, youth were recognized as a distinct social group, and protecting their interests was declared an integral part of state policy.
Since the 1991 law “On the Fundamentals of State Youth Policy” had fulfilled its historical role, a new law was adopted in an updated form in line with modern requirements and international standards.
Through this law, the state provided clear guarantees for youth in areas such as education, access to quality healthcare, employment, and support for entrepreneurship and innovation. In addition, the law outlines the financial support of youth policy, and encourages social engagement and civic initiatives by young people.
Today, the implementation of youth policy within the framework of this law is seen as a guarantee of the country’s progress. The development of a well-rounded generation, their active participation in society, their mastery of innovations and new technologies, and their emergence as worthy representatives of Uzbekistan in the international arena has become a strategic priority for the state. As a result, Uzbekistan’s youth policy is highly regarded not only domestically, but also internationally.
In conclusion, this law represents a long-term strategic decision aimed at the future, ensuring the comprehensive development of the younger generation and providing a solid foundation for the country’s sustainable future.
