Navruz is not just an ancient holiday, but also a symbol of nature’s awakening, the beginning of a new life, and spiritual renewal. In Uzbekistan, March 21 is widely celebrated as the national holiday of Navruz and is recognized as a public holiday. On this day, the equinox occurs, symbolizing the balance established in the universe. Navruz is also seen as a celebration of renewal in human life, spiritual purity, kindness, friendship, and brotherhood.
The word "Navruz" is derived from Persian and means "new day". This holiday has been celebrated by Eastern nations for thousands of years and has its origins in the Zoroastrian era. Navruz originally emerged as a festival marking the arrival of the new year among agrarian and pastoral communities. With the arrival of spring, people place their hopes on a new harvest and make good wishes for the upcoming year.
