Members of Uzbekistan’s delegation who proudly represented the country at the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 20th Asian Games in Japan received a ceremonial welcome in the capital.

Nearly 11,000 athletes from 45 countries across the continent took part in the prestigious competition. Uzbekistan won 21 gold, 25 silver, and 24 bronze medals – 70 medals in total, finishing fifth in the overall standings.

This was the highest result among Central Asian countries and member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Uzbekistan thus finished among the top five at the Asian Games for the third consecutive time.

Strong results were also achieved in individual sports. Uzbekistan’s men’s boxing team finished first in the team standings, while the country’s judo and taekwondo teams recorded the second-best results after Japan.

The welcoming ceremony for our champions and medalists was held in a festive atmosphere. Their strong performance on the continental stage was a source of pride for the country.

Congratulations to our athletes on their victories! May many more achievements follow!
