Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva met with Google Vice President Karan Bhatia. The meeting focused on taking technological cooperation between Uzbekistan and Google to a new level and launching YouTube monetization in Uzbekistan.

 

“In recent years, we have improved legislation on personal data processing and digital payments. As a result, broader opportunities are opening up for the unrestricted use of international payment systems in Uzbekistan,” the Head of the Presidential Administration said.

Today, this cooperation is expanding far beyond individual digital services and evolving into a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan’s IT capacity and expanding its potential as a technology hub in Central Asia.

Google Pay to Launch in Uzbekistan

Plans are underway to introduce Google Pay for Visa and Mastercard cards.

Uzbek Language to Be Integrated into Google Gemini

Support for the Uzbek language on the Google Cloud Gemini platform will open new opportunities for developing AI solutions in the local language. Technologies such as BigQuery and Dataplex will also be used in pilot projects to analyze large volumes of data across various sectors of the economy.

Cybersecurity and Digital Talent

Plans include strengthening the capacity of national cybersecurity specialists using Google technologies, introducing new training programmes, and expanding opportunities for international certification.

Uzbek Talent Enters the Google Ecosystem

More than 737,000 users have completed Google’s “Human + AI” courses through Coursera and received certificates. In addition, 25 students are expected to be sent for internships at Google offices each year.

Importantly, the partnership also aims to develop the local IT ecosystem by supporting startups, organizing hackathons, and training specialists in education and artificial intelligence.

The new stage of cooperation with Google opens up new opportunities for Uzbekistan to move beyond simply consuming technology toward creating, adapting, and exporting it.
 

“There are opportunities to cooperate with the company in many areas. We have major and important tasks ahead”, S. Mirziyoyeva emphasized.
