Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) took place in Samarkand. The prestigious international forum, held under the theme "Towards Restoring Human Rights, Justice, and Human Dignity in a Complex Era," was attended by young parliamentarians from 60 countries and representatives of 13 international organizations, totaling nearly 250 delegates.

During the closing ceremony of the conference, the Director of the Youth Affairs Agency, Alisher Sadullaev, and Member of the Parliament of Ghana, Member of the IPU Bureau of Young Parliamentarians, Ms. Joycelyn Quashie, jointly took the floor to read the final document of the two-day forum — the Samarkand Declaration. The document reflects global initiatives on protecting human rights, ensuring justice and human dignity, digital security, combating climate change, creating decent working conditions, and further expanding youth participation in political processes.

Over the course of the two-day sessions, issues concerning security, education, labor, digital rights, a healthy environment, and political freedom were discussed. Furthermore, within the framework of the conference, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, held meetings with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Tulia Ackson, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, Felipe Paullier, and leaders of other international organizations. The meetings focused on further developing Uzbekistan's cooperation with international organizations and broadly involving youth in decision-making processes.

The participants specifically acknowledged the high level of organization of this global event by Uzbekistan and emphasized that mutual cooperation has reached a new stage.
