The Tashkent International Half Marathon – 2026 was held in the capital on September 6. Alongside professional and amateur runners, thousands of young people took an active part in the major sporting event.

Five races were held as part of the event, attracting nearly 24,500 participants. Women accounted for almost 53 percent of all participants. The marathon also brought together more than 2,000 international participants from 50 countries.

Special attention was given to inclusive sport, with nearly 600 participants taking part in dedicated races.

The opening ceremony was attended by Viktor Makhmudov, Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Uzbekistan Triathlon Federation; Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov; and Akmalkhuja Mavlonov, Chairman of the Customs Committee and Chairman of the Uzbekistan Athletics Federation.

The event incorporated modern digital solutions, with participants’ results recorded electronically and live online tracking available throughout the races. The marathon’s reach across social media exceeded 13 million.

Winners and prize-winners were awarded at the conclusion of the competition. In the men’s and women’s 21.1 km races, first-place finishers received UZS 15 million, second-place finishers UZS 12 million, and third-place finishers UZS 10 million. Those finishing fourth through sixth were also awarded prizes.

In the 5 km races, the top three male and female finishers received UZS 3 million, UZS 2 million, and UZS 1 million, respectively.

Tashkent International Half Marathon – 2026 brought together thousands of young people, professional athletes, and amateur runners, turning the event into a major celebration of sport in the capital.
