Creating a Safe Environment in Mahallas and Early Prevention of Offenses

Today, April 25, an extended meeting of the Republican Interagency Coordination Council on creating a safe environment in mahallas and the early prevention of offenses was held under the leadership of Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev and Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov.
The meeting was conducted via videoconference and attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, members of Parliament and the Government, heads of law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, members of the republican coordination штаб, as well as regional, district and city hokims, prosecutors, heads of internal affairs bodies, members of territorial working groups, and other officials.
During the meeting, the implementation of Presidential resolutions No. 1 and No. 2 dated January 5, 2026, as well as ongoing efforts to prevent crime and offenses in the country, were critically reviewed.
It was noted that, on the initiative of the Head of State, fundamentally new approaches and effective mechanisms are being introduced to ensure peace and public safety, contributing to the stabilization of the crime situation in the regions.
In particular, in 2025 and the current period, more than 20,000 “model safe streets” and nearly 50,000 “safe corridors” have been established in mahallas. Thousands of surveillance cameras, including facial and license plate recognition systems, have been installed in crowded areas. Nearly 300,000 facilities have been placed under technical protection, tens of thousands of emergency alert buttons and modern intercom systems have been installed, and social and бытовые issues of at-risk citizens have been addressed.
At the same time, specific shortcomings and mistakes made by responsible officials in implementing decisions were highlighted, supported by concrete figures and examples for each region and sector.
During the meeting, explanations and reports from members of the republican coordination headquarters, heads of responsible agencies, and hokims were heard, and appropriate measures were taken against those who demonstrated negligence.
Speakers at the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister — Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women Zulaykho Mahkamova, Chairman of the “Nuroniylar” Foundation S. Turdiyev, Director of the Youth Affairs Agency Alisher Sa’dullayev, and other representatives of relevant ministries and agencies.
