March 21 — The Nationwide Holiday "Navruz"
2026-03-21 / Calendar of events

Every year on March 21st, the ancient and ever-young nationwide holiday "Navruz" arrives in our homeland with special magnificence. Signifying a "New Day," this occasion is not merely a date on the calendar but a symbol of the awakening of nature and the human spirit, rooted in the millennial history of the East.
Recognized as an International Day by the United Nations, "Navruz" stands primarily as a symbol of peace, tolerance, and humanism. On this day, grievances are forgotten, and bonds of kindness are strengthened. Inherited from our ancestors, this holiday reminds us that humanity is an integral part of nature, and preserving the environment is the duty of each of us.
Today, the youth of Uzbekistan serve not just as spectators but as active participants and initiators in the celebration of "Navruz". The very essence of the holiday is inextricably linked with youth, energy, and confidence in the future.
Our youth preserve our national code by organizing "Sumalak" gatherings, kite-flying competitions, and folk games. They accept values from the older generation, acting as a bridge to transmit this heritage to the next generation in a modern spirit.
On the eve of the holiday, youth-led initiatives such as nationwide "Hashars" (community work), tree-planting actions within the "Yashil Makon" (Green Space) project, and visiting those in need of social protection demonstrate the active civic position of our young people.
Traditional sports competitions held during the festival, such as "Kurash" (wrestling) and "Uloq-kupkari" (equestrian sport), not only physically strengthen the youth but also instill feelings of courage and patriotism.
Today, "Navruz" is celebrated in our country with a renewed spirit. The creative performances of young people, their activities in folklore-ethnographic groups, and the creative approaches they bring to holiday programs are worthy of praise.
On this auspicious occasion, we wish all our compatriots, and especially our ambitious and energetic youth, a spring mood, family peace, and great victories.
Happy holidays, dear friends!
