The Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-9 was adopted.

The Resolution set the goal of increasing the reading level of the population to an average of 10 books per year in 2026-2030.

According to the Resolution, a Fund for the Development of Reading Culture will be established under the Youth Affairs Agency and the composition of its Board of Trustees was approved.

It was determined that the funds of the Fund will be directed to finance the following activities:

1. Allocating grants for young writers through a competition and publishing their works, supporting projects in the field of children's literature;

2. To identify talented authors through a competition and create conditions for their creativity, to pay them a monthly salary of 50 times the minimum wage for the first year;

3. To cover 50% of the costs of preparing and publishing the best foreign literature into Uzbek and national literature into foreign languages, and 80% of the costs of copyright;

4. To pay a quarterly bonus to members of the Board of Trustees in the amount of up to 50 times the minimum wage.
