In Tashkent, negotiations were held between the delegation of Uzbekistan’s regions, led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, and the delegation of St. Petersburg, headed by Governor Alexander Beglov. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and expressed readiness to expand interregional cooperation.
Following the meeting, two documents were signed – the Protocol on the Outcomes of the Negotiations and the Action Plan of Practical Measures. These provide for cooperation in trade, industrial cooperation, transport, housing and utilities, education, science, culture, tourism, and sports.
Special attention was given to priority investment projects covering construction, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, the agro-industrial complex, raw material processing, building materials production, and the development of tourism infrastructure.
The implementation of the agreements reached will help strengthen economic ties, create new jobs, and expand export potential, thereby contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of Uzbekistan’s regions and St. Petersburg.
