Uzbekistan and Qatar Strengthen Strategic Partnership and Launch Joint Investment Projects

On August 20–21, the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a series of meetings in Doha with key representatives of Qatar’s government and business sectors.
Talks were conducted with ministers overseeing investment and foreign trade, as well as with the heads of leading Qatari companies, including Qatar Pharma, Tamam International, Almana Group, Ariane Real Estate, Retaj Group, Al Mansour Group, Petro White, Qatar Mining, Global Infrastructure Partners, Qatar Investment Authority, and Al Jabor Trading.
The Uzbek side presented investment opportunities in energy, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, building materials, food and textile industries, mining, as well as tourism and hospitality. Practical aspects of the investment climate were thoroughly explained, including capital protection guarantees, tax and customs incentives, and special conditions for strategic projects.
As a result of the talks, agreements were reached on localizing pharmaceutical production, launching construction and real estate projects, developing smart urban districts, mining and mineral processing, as well as joint investments in tourism infrastructure and the hotel industry. The sides also agreed to prepare a preferential trade agreement, hold a "Made in Uzbekistan" exhibition in Doha in 2026, and establish a "Uzbekistan – Qatar Business Council."
The agreements reached confirm a mutual commitment to expanding strategic partnership and forming a new portfolio of joint projects, which will be formalized during upcoming high-level bilateral events.
