On August 13, 2025, Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Aurélia Bouchez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic, who is concluding her diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan. Both parties expressed mutual gratitude for the support in deepening bilateral cooperation. The Ambassador highlighted the growing presence of French companies in Uzbekistan's strategic sectors, a result of the ongoing reforms to improve the investment climate.
It was noted that over the past four years, the development of trade and economic partnership between the two countries has significantly accelerated. The volume of mutual trade has increased fourfold, exceeding the $1 billion mark for the first time. Plans were discussed for further strengthening cooperation, including organizing the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation before the end of the current year.
Special attention was paid to the successful development of investment cooperation. Gratitude of the French companies MND and SUEZ for support and assistance in implementing joint projects in Uzbekistan was expressed. Issues related to the further promotion of strategically significant initiatives involving corporations such as TotalEnergies, Eiffage, EDF, Alstom, and Airbus were also reviewed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Laziz Kudratov thanked Aurélia Bouchez for her personal contribution to strengthening Uzbek-French relations and wished her success in her future professional endeavors. Both sides affirmed their readiness to maintain the sustainable momentum of cooperation and develop mutually beneficial projects in key economic sectors.
