Uzbekistan Expands International Cooperation to Boost Export Potential of Its Food Industry

The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan continues to implement systematic measures and create favorable conditions to foster active engagement between business communities from various countries, with the aim of expanding trade and investment cooperation.
In this context, a visit was organized for a delegation from METRO Russia, who were in Tashkent to participate in the 4th International Exhibition "Food, Ingredients and Production Technologies – UzFood 2025." The delegation toured production facilities of prominent Uzbek food industry enterprises, including Crafers, Candy Gold, and BMB Holding.
During direct negotiations, key issues were addressed concerning the organization of regular shipments of Uzbek products to Russian retail networks. Discussions also focused on identifying high-demand product categories and optimizing transport and logistics routes for delivery.
METRO is a leading international wholesale operator specializing in small-scale trade, offering a broad assortment of goods for the HoReCa sector and independent retailers. The company operates in 34 countries, employing over 97,000 people worldwide. In Russia, METRO has been present since 2000 and currently operates 93 shopping centers across 51 regions, with a workforce of approximately 11,000 employees.
