Laziz Kudratov met with the CEO of Air Products in Samarkand.

On April 2, prior to the Central Asia-European Union Summit, Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with Eduardo Menezes, Chief Executive Officer of Air Products and Chemicals Inc.

The parties concentrated on the efficient utilization of the projects that have been put into operation, the progress in implementing current projects, and the development of new, promising, mutually beneficial initiatives.

Laziz Kudratov emphasized the company's successful experience in Uzbekistan. Since 2019, the company has executed three major investment projects with a total investment of $1.15 billion in various regions of Uzbekistan. These projects include hydrogen production at the Fergana Refinery and liquid carbon dioxide production at Navoiazot JSC.

Today, the company is launching oxygen and nitrogen production projects at the MTO complex in Bukhara, having already invested over $200 million. The complex will provide methanol and olefins for industries including plastics, automotive, and construction.

New projects focused on CO₂ capture and storage, aviation fuel production, and coal gasification have also been proposed.

As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual readiness to further deepen cooperation and established a framework for effective collaboration to successfully complete current projects and implement new ones.
