Laziz Kudratov Meets with EBRD Representative in Uzbekistan

On March 25, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with Andi Aranitasy, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Representative Office in Uzbekistan.
The discussion focused on ongoing projects involving the EBRD and new initiatives aligned with the Uzbekistan 2030 strategy. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and expanding joint efforts.
A key initiative introduced during the meeting involves direct engagement with major regional entrepreneurs seeking to scale their businesses, including entry into developed markets. Andi Aranitasy emphasized the significance of direct interactions with entrepreneurs as a means to identify investment opportunities and establish sustainable business connections. He also expressed strong interest in EBRD representatives participating in planned visits to regional businesses.
Additionally, the meeting covered organizational aspects of the upcoming Foreign Investors Council (FIC) session under the President of Uzbekistan. Kudratov highlighted the FIC’s critical role in fostering open dialogue between government entities and international financial institutions. He welcomed the EBRD’s active involvement in the session and its contributions to enhancing Uzbekistan’s investment climate.
