On February 28 of this year, Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Lim Chin Fui, Executive Director of Five Petroleum Malaysia.
Five Petroleum Malaysia was founded in 2020 and operates over 110 vehicle fueling stations across Malaysia. The company also holds a 60 percent stake in BHPetrol, which owns more than 400 fueling stations.
During the talks, both sides discussed the implementation of agreements reached during the summit visit to Malaysia on February 4-5 of this year, as well as new promising areas, including potential projects in the energy and mining industries.
Both sides expressed mutual confidence that attracting FIVE Petroleum Corporation’s experience and investments to Uzbekistan would significantly improve the quality of work in these sectors and create another successful precedent for Malaysian and, more broadly, foreign investors.
The company’s management highly praised the conditions created for doing business in Uzbekistan and expressed interest in further joint work on new, mutually beneficial projects.
As a result of the negotiations, a framework for continued cooperation was developed within the context of successfully implementing the discussed projects and initiatives.
