Uzbekistan and the UAE Expand Investment Cooperation Agenda and Develop New Joint Projects

On October 7, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov participated in the international Investopia Bridge 2026 Forum and the business roundtable “UAE–Uzbekistan: Connecting Capital with Opportunity” in Abu Dhabi.
The discussions focused on prospects for deepening economic partnership and launching new projects. Priority areas included energy, digital infrastructure and telecommunications, artificial intelligence, the financial sector, chemical industry, agriculture and food security, tourism, transport and logistics, as well as real estate development.
The participation of leading UAE companies and financial institutions, including Ghitha Holding, e&, Rotana Hotel Management Corporation, Mashreq Bank, Masdar, AMEA Power, Modon, and Etihad Development Company, added a practical dimension to the discussions. Participants were presented with Uzbekistan’s promising projects and opportunities to engage in privatization processes, infrastructure and technological initiatives. Particular attention was paid to logistics and the establishment of efficient channels to increase bilateral trade.
During the working visit, Laziz Kudratov held a series of meetings with Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism; Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment; Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; as well as executives of major UAE companies.
A separate focus was placed on improving the institutional mechanisms of cooperation. An agreement was reached to strengthen coordination between the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council, with a greater emphasis on developing concrete initiatives.
Following the visit, next steps were outlined to advance promising projects involving government institutions, investment funds, and businesses of both countries.
