On October 5, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with Katsura Miyazaki, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The parties reviewed the current state and prospects for developing cooperation, as well as the implementation of ongoing joint projects and the preparation of new ones.
Particular attention was paid to the development of free economic zones (FEZs). JICA’s technical assistance in developing FEZ master plans and creating conditions for attracting foreign investment, including from Japanese companies, was highly appreciated.
Following the meeting, a new Partnership Program for 2026–2030 was signed, comprising 15 promising projects. The initiatives cover transport and energy infrastructure, human capital development, healthcare, agriculture, private sector support, and green growth.
