Uzbekistan and Singapore Expand Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation

On 28 August, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov took part in the ceremony for the signing of bilateral documents as part of the visit of Senior Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong.
Uzbekistan and Singapore signed a document on the launch of negotiations on establishing a free trade regime. The initiative opens up new opportunities to expand bilateral trade and improve market access conditions in both countries.
Agreements were formalized with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise in the field of special economic zone development, drawing on Singapore’s experience and expertise.
An agreement in the food industry was signed with the participation of Wilmar International and Indorama. The project envisages establishing vegetable oil production and processing in the Tashkent region, followed by the development of the feed base and poultry industry.
