On 26 August, the establishment of the Uzbekistan Business Council in Dubai was announced. The initiative was launched by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UAE, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UAE, and representatives of the Uzbek business community, with the support of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
The Council will serve as a new platform for direct engagement between entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Dubai. Its activities will focus on developing trade and investment ties, identifying new partners, and promoting joint initiatives across various sectors.
A solid economic foundation has already been established for this cooperation. Today, more than 450 companies with UAE capital operate in Uzbekistan, while the volume of Emirati investments over the past three years has reached approximately USD 3 billion. In 2025, bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to USD 1.2 billion.
The Council’s inaugural meeting was held at the headquarters of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. Discussions focused on creating new business opportunities, expanding mutual investment, strengthening ties between companies, facilitating the exchange of experience and information, and organizing joint business events.
The presence of Uzbek businesses in Dubai also continues to grow. At the end of last year, 826 active Uzbek companies were members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, an increase of 21.3 percent compared to the previous year. A further 75 companies joined the Chamber in the first half of 2026.
The establishment of the Uzbekistan Business Council creates a permanent mechanism for building direct ties between entrepreneurs and investors, promoting new projects, and further strengthening the long-term trade and investment partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
