Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka Discuss Expanding Trade and Economic Cooperation

On 10 July, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Gulyamov held a meeting with Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka.
The parties reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka. Particular attention was given to collaboration in tourism, agriculture, the textile industry, precious stones, transport and logistics, pharmaceuticals, and the production of mineral fertilizers.
The sides also explored the establishment of a Joint Intergovernmental Commission and a Business Council to facilitate the coordination and implementation of practical bilateral projects.
