On 7 July 2026, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting chaired by Deputy Minister Sh. Gulamov to discuss issues related to integrity, professional ethics, conflict of interest management and corruption prevention.
The meeting included a comprehensive discussion of the new requirements introduced by the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.1155, adopted on 22 June 2026, which are aimed at further strengthening the national anti-corruption framework, reinforcing the principles of integrity within public institutions, improving the management of conflicts of interest and preventing corruption-related offences.
In particular, Deputy Minister Sh. Gulamov emphasized that individuals convicted of five categories of corruption-related crimes will no longer be eligible for parole or for the replacement of the remaining term of imprisonment with a more lenient sentence. He noted that this provision is an important step towards ensuring the inevitability of liability for corruption offences, strengthening the principle of the inevitability of punishment, and fostering a zero-tolerance approach to corruption across society.
