Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions (SWS) is the only company in the UAE that collects, treats, and reuses wastewater. Through a network spanning 12,000 km, SWS collects over 1,341,000 m³ of water daily, supported by more than 200 pumping stations and 42 treatment plants. SWS works to reduce the burden on natural water resources and contribute to sustainable development in the UAE.
The project will be implemented by a consortium of companies, including French company SUEZ and Japanese company Marubeni, selected as technological partners for SWS.
According to preliminary project parameters, the capacity of the facility will be 1 milllion m³ per day in the first stage, with a subsequent increase to 1.5 million m³. A 42 km wastewater collector will be created to efficiently collect and transport wastewater for further treatment.
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) systems will also be implemented to provide efficient monitoring and management of wastewater treatment and transportation processes.
As stated at the ceremony, the implementation of the project will provide centralized wastewater management for residents, businesses, and organizations in the Tashkent region, which will further improve public health and the environmental situation in the region and save over 10 million kWh of electricity.
