Uzbekistan and the United States Sign Memorandum to Advance Investment and Trade-Economic Cooperation

On June 8, 2026, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, met with the Assistant Secretary of Commerce of the United States, David Fogel.
The parties discussed the current status and future prospects for expanding bilateral trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation. It was emphasized that the United States remains a key partner for Uzbekistan, with mutual trade turnover exceeding $1 billion by the end of 2025.
Particular attention was dedicated to the execution of joint investment projects and collaboration in energy, mining, transportation, agriculture, finance, and digital technologies. Furthermore, the participants exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in innovation, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and supporting business initiatives to strengthen economic ties.
A key practical milestone of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan and the U.S. Commercial Service. The agreement aims to support regional business delegations, foster interregional connections, expand networking, and advance new investment projects.
