Uzbekistan–Austria Business Forum Held in Tashkent

On May 7, Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan-Austria Business Forum, organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade (MIIT) alongside the Austrian Embassy for 100 business community representatives from both nations. Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Shokhrukh Gulamov presented a comprehensive report highlighting the country’s investment potential.
The Austrian delegation included Federal Minister for European and International Affairs Beate Meinl-Reisinger and State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Barbara Eibinger-Miedl.
The Forum facilitated a formal exchange of documents regarding the avoidance of double taxation, migration partnerships, and visa-free travel for diplomatic passport holders.
The participants recognized the successful operations of companies such as Lasselsberger, Doppelmayr, AME International, Bowas, and Bauer, supported by financing from Raiffeisen and UniCredit. Particular emphasis was placed on initiatives within the mining, agribusiness, pharmaceutical, and green energy sectors. The event concluded with B2B and B2G sessions aimed at developing strategic roadmaps for forthcoming projects.
