Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Turkish Association of Baklava and Pastry Producers (BAKTAD). The negotiations involved executives from prominent industry brands, such as Mehmet Yildirim, Karaköy Güllüoğlu, and Burça Baklava, all of which are globally recognized for their traditional dessert exports.

The participants discussed the implementation of international quality standards and the development of specialized vocational training for the confectionery sector. Particular emphasis was placed on a proposal to organize a Baklava Festival in Uzbekistan, which is expected to become a significant milestone for the country’s gastronomic culture.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to launch joint projects and strengthen bilateral partnerships. Both parties expressed their intent to pursue long-term cooperation in confectionery production and professional knowledge exchange.
