Where ancient trade routes meet modern ambitions – on the run, after sunset
June 16, 2026 20:00, New Uzbekistan Park. Tashkent 3-10 km. Open participation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan - The organisers of the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum
(TIIF 2026) have announced the Silk Road Night Run powered by TIIF, a 3-10 km evening run through the “New Uzbekistan” park sports complex on the opening day of the Forum, June 16.
The Silk Road was history’s longest sustained experiment in cross-border exchange. For over two millennia, it connected producers and consumers, creditors and borrowers, ideas and markets across a geography that stretched from the Mediterranean to the Pacific. The merchants who travelled it understood something that modern portfolio theory would take centuries to formalise: diversification across geographies reduces risk and increases returns.
The Night Run draws on that legacy. Beginning at 20:00, as the June sun sets over Tashkent, participants - Forum delegates, international partners, government officials and residents - will run through “New Uzbekistan” park. The event is open to all fitness levels and is designed as a communal experience rather than a competitive race.
The Silk Road Night Run is the second event of the TIIF Active Series - a programme of sporting and networking activities integrated into the Forum calendar. The series reflects a growing recognition among leading global forums that the most productive relationships are often built outside the conference hall.
