Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Meets with Sojitz Corporation and JALUX

On 11 February, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov held a meeting with the management of Sojitz Corporation and JALUX.
Sojitz Corporation is one of Japan’s largest trading and investment holdings, implementing projects in mechanical engineering, transport, energy, industry and infrastructure across more than 50 countries worldwide. JALUX specializes in the development of aviation and airport infrastructure, management of duty free facilities, aviation catering, and related services.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed key issues related to accelerating the implementation of the project for the construction of the New Tashkent International Airport. The importance of expediting the signing of the public-private partnership (PPP) agreement, as well as ensuring the comprehensive development of the airport infrastructure, was emphasized.
JALUX also presented its plans to enter the Uzbek market and participate in the development of airport commercial infrastructure, including duty free operations, aviation catering and related services. The parties confirmed their intention to continue practical cooperation and ensure the consistent implementation of the agreements reached.
