Uzbekistan is expanding its interaction with Malaysian investors

On May 16 this year, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, held meetings via video conference with the leaders of Malaysian funds such as "Khazanah Nasional," the Malaysian Employees Provident Fund (EPF), as well as representatives of the major company "Petronas."

"Petronas" is a major national oil, gas, and chemical company in Malaysia, which is included in the ranking of the world's 500 largest companies.
The Employees Provident Fund – EPF — is one of the world's oldest employee provident funds. Founded in 1951, the fund assists Malaysian workers in saving for retirement in accordance with the Employees Provident Fund Act passed in 1991.
"Khazanah Nasional" is the sovereign wealth fund of the Malaysian government, tasked with enhancing the country's long-term wealth through specific commercial and strategic objectives.
During the negotiations, company leaders emphasized the positive growth of Uzbekistan's economy, made possible by ongoing reforms, which is an important factor in strengthening the trust between companies from the two countries.
Prospects for strengthening bilateral investment relations were also discussed, with a view to the joint implementation of investment projects in the banking, financial, energy, and chemical sectors.
Special attention was given to upcoming joint high-level events, and certain organizational aspects of the events were agreed upon.
Following the meetings, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand trade, economic and investment cooperation, develop new initiatives, and take measures to increase and diversify mutual trade.
