The panel session "Reputation, trust and security: improving the foreign investment climate through effective anti-corruption policies and combating the criminal economy" discussed the impact of corruption on global economic development and investment.
The event was moderated by Carteron Jean-Paul Olivier, Chairman and Founder, Crans Montana Forum
Speakers included His Royal Highness the Prince of Luxembourg, as well as economic and legal experts.
Speakers emphasized that corruption is not only an internal problem of individual countries, but also a global threat that undermines the foundations of sustainable development and the efficiency of economic systems. In the context of investment attractiveness, the cleanliness of the political and economic arena plays a critical role in assessing the risks and growth potential of investments.
"An effective fight against corruption requires a comprehensive approach, including strengthening legislation and increasing transparency of government actions," said Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The session also discussed Uzbekistan's success in attracting foreign investment in energy and renewable energy, highlighting the importance of government reforms and their adaptation to globalization to ensure sustainable development.
"We see that Uzbekistan is open to development and has all the necessary resources to attract foreign partners," expressed Selodin Mediar, former president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises.
The final discussions of the international panel session emphasized the need for global cooperation and exchange of experience in fighting corruption to create an attractive investment climate. The impact of effective anti-corruption policies on the economic security and attractiveness of a country for foreign investors was recognized as critical.
