Investment projects in industry, building materials production and food industry presented at TIIF

The session noted that today Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the development of the country's industrial sector. In particular, in 2023, more than 69.4 thousand operating industrial enterprises produced products worth $51.72 billion. The largest share in this volume (84.4%) fell on the manufacturing industry. The processes of transformation and modernization of the largest industries continue.
During the pitch session, leading industry executives presented several promising investment projects in such areas as agriculture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and construction materials production.
In particular, Davron Khidoyatov, Deputy Chairman of Uzavtosanoat JSC noted that the automotive industry plays a very important role in Uzbekistan's economy, accounting for about 4.5% of the country's GDP.
Jaloliddin Gulkhanov, Director of the Department of the Ministry of Agriculture spoke about the production of baby food in Uzbekistan.
“To date, the republic only imports baby food, porridge, teas, puddings, etc. Annual imports amount to about $90 million. I noticed that Uzbekistan is home to more than 4 million children under the age of 4, which indicates a great potential for investment and profit”.
Ilyos Rakhimov, Deputy Chairman of “O'zsanoatqurilishmateriallari” Association, drew attention to the work of small industrial zones specialized in textiles, which are important in the development of the textile industry. He noted that the zones were created with the purpose of attracting investments. And here there are all conditions for promotion of goods for export.
