Uzbekistan and Lithuania Discuss Strengthening Economic Cooperation on the Sidelines of the EU–Central Asia Forum

On the sidelines of the Third EU–Central Asia Economic Forum, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Tadas Valys and Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Akram Aliyev.
The discussion opened with an assessment of the current state of bilateral relations. The parties noted that cooperation potential is steadily increasing and requires the development of more flexible and effective engagement mechanisms. The participants also aligned on practical priorities and reaffirmed their mutual interest in accelerating cooperation.
A separate focus was placed on preparations for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, scheduled to be held in Lithuania in 2026. The sides exchanged views on priority agenda items to ensure that the upcoming session becomes a milestone toward a new stage of cooperation between the two countries.
Concluding the meeting, both parties confirmed their readiness to advance joint efforts by launching new projects, strengthening coordination, and expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and economic partnership.
