Central Asia–China Forum on Unimpeded Trade Held in Shanghai

The Central Asia–China Forum on Unimpeded Trade was held in Shanghai (PRC) within the framework of the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE).
Deputy Minister of Investment of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov delivered a speech highlighting the country’s favorable investment climate, strong industrial potential, and the strategic importance of developing trade corridors between Central Asia and China. Special attention was given to reducing barriers and accelerating procedures for the exchange of goods, services, and investments.
The event was attended by Liu Xiaotao, Governor of Jiangsu Province, Arman Shakkaliev, Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lin Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce of the PRC as well as representatives of government agencies and business communities from the region.
Jiangsu Province ranks as China’s second-largest economy, with its GDP exceeding USD 1.9 trillion in 2024. Key industries include machinery manufacturing, electronics, chemicals, shipbuilding, and renewable energy.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening regional integration and enhancing financial, logistics, and infrastructure connectivity, reaffirming their commitment to developing a sustainable partnership between Central Asian countries and China.
