Uzbekistan and China Strengthen Cooperation in Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence

In Shanghai, Deputy Minister of MIIT Ilzat Kasimov held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China Xiong Zijun. The sides discussed issues related to digital transformation, the introduction of artificial intelligence, and industrial modernization.
Views were exchanged on prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of digital technologies, smart solutions, big-data processing, and cloud computing. Particular attention was given to industrial digitalization, experience-sharing in industrial automation, and the creation of joint technological platforms.
The Uzbek side presented initiatives under the “Digital Uzbekistan - 2030” strategy aimed at developing IT infrastructure, supporting start-ups, and training qualified specialists. It was noted that several projects with the participation of Chinese companies are being actively implemented, including the establishment of intelligent computing centers and the development of the industrial Internet of Things.
Following the talks, both sides confirmed their readiness to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and the relevant agencies of the Central Asian countries - an important step toward building a unified digital space across the region.
