Scholarships and grants for students

On the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Named State Scholarships Administered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation
The Republic of Uzbekistan has established a comprehensive system of state scholarships aimed at providing both financial support and moral encouragement to students pursuing higher education. This system plays a significant role in fostering students’ motivation for academic excellence, enhancing their scientific and creative potential, and identifying as well as supporting talented and high-achieving young people.
State scholarships serve as an important incentive for students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, actively participate in public and community life, and engage in scientific research and creative activities. They also contribute to developing a sense of responsibility, competitiveness, and professional readiness among young people.

Selection Process and Benefits
The initial stage of the competition for both the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the named state scholarships is conducted by the higher education institutions themselves.
At this stage, university councils nominate for the next round:
- the three candidates who receive the highest number of votes for the Presidential State Scholarship;
- up to three candidates for each allocated quota for every named state scholarship.
The final scholarship recipients are determined by the selection committees established under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, based on an assessment of applicants' scientific achievements, academic accomplishments, and the results of standardized examinations.
A particularly important benefit is that recipients of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan are entitled, for two years after completing their bachelor's degree, to enroll in a master's program in their respective field without entrance examinations, under an additional state-funded grant.
Recipients of the named state scholarships enjoy the same privilege for one year after completing their bachelor's degree, allowing them to enter a master's program in their specialty without entrance examinations and on the basis of an additional government-funded scholarship (grant).
