During the talks, the parties discussed ways to further enhance direct cooperation between the higher education institutions of the two countries. In particular, they explored opportunities for academic exchanges of teachers and students, as well as for specialists and researchers to take part in international conferences, symposia, seminars, and roundtable discussions held in both nations.
It was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Greece in the field of higher education is currently carried out mainly through the European Union’s Erasmus+ education program. This initiative facilitates the exchange of experience, implementation of joint educational projects, and expansion of academic mobility.
At present, Tashkent State Technical University cooperates with the Athens Technological Educational Institute, while Andijan Machine-Building Institute maintains close partnership with the University of West Attica. To further expand this successful cooperation, a proposal was made to involve more Uzbek universities in joint projects with Greek higher education institutions.
In addition, professors and specialists from Greek universities are regularly invited to teach lectures, conduct practical classes, and share expertise at universities across Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan expressed particular interest in inviting more Greek scholars and experts to deliver master classes and participate in scientific projects in such fields as technology, engineering, tourism, and cultural studies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen inter-university relations, implement joint research projects, and continue cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
