Higher education cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar discussed at an international conference

The discussion focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of higher education, science, and innovation. In particular, the importance of creating favorable conditions for Qatari students to study at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and exchanging best practices in personnel training and professional development was emphasized.
It was noted that in recent years, mutually beneficial cooperation between universities of both countries has been actively developing, especially in terms of joint training of specialists and implementation of scientific projects.
During the meeting, the Uzbek side put forward several key initiatives, including: launching student exchange programs, developing mechanisms for joint recognition of master’s and doctoral degrees, conducting joint scientific research and encouraging participation in international conferences, as well as establishing joint educational programs and research laboratories.
The parties also proposed expanding cooperation between universities in the following priority areas:
✅ artificial intelligence and digital technologies
✅ green economy and sustainable development
✅ renewable energy sources
✅ food security and agrobiotechnology
✅ oil and gas industry and engineering
Both sides agreed to begin practical steps toward implementing these initiatives in the near future.
