At the meeting, mechanisms for implementing the planned work to coordinate the activities of researchers studying the integration of persons with disabilities into society were discussed. The need to create special national video and audio content with subtitles and sign language translation was also noted.
The need to develop a short-term professional development program for teachers working in the field of inclusive education in prestigious foreign universities was also noted. An agreement was reached to study the experience of Syracuse University in the field of inclusive education by the Agency for Innovative Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
After the discussions, the minister gave instructions for the implementation of a pilot socio-economic infrastructure project “Uyg‘un taʼlim”, which is expected to become a leading national inclusion program at the Tashkent State University of Economics. At this site, detailed attention will be paid to the issue of gradual harmonization of the activities of preschool, school and higher educational organizations in the field of preparation for professional and social life, the idea of ensuring a healthy corporate environment and equality in education between people who need special attention and society. After successful testing of the pilot project, this infrastructure will be implemented in other higher and professional educational organizations.
