A press tour of student dormitories took place in tashkent

Participants of the press tour got acquainted with the modern student dormitory of the Tashkent State Technical University. It was built by reconstructing an administrative building that was vacated as a result of administrative reforms. Due to the commissioning of the recently renovated 800-bed dormitory No. 75, 5,202 students will be provided with housing.
The student dormitory has a modern kitchen, a common room where textbooks, fiction, science and educational literature are presented, a computer lab equipped with the most modern computers to improve students' knowledge and skills in the field of information and communication technologies, laundry and restrooms.
The press tour also presented the construction work of the dormitories of the Turin Polytechnic University and the Tashkent State Technical University, as well as the newly built student dormitories of the National University of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent Financial Institute.
At the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, students from remote regions of the republic and foreign countries live in a dormitory with 160 beds. The rooms in the student dormitory are equipped with all necessary equipment: washing machines, stoves, microwaves, and a dining room. The hostel also has a library and Wi-Fi hotspots where students can spend their free time.
For young people living in the hostel, sports sections in chess, wrestling, football, volleyball, and table tennis are regularly organized.
It should be noted that today in our republic there are only 325 student dormitories in 115 state universities, their capacity is 118,166 places. Based on the program approved by the Cabinet of Ministers for 2022-2026, the construction and reconstruction of new dormitories continues.
According to the program, by 2026 it is planned to build a student dormitory for 100 thousand places in the republic.
Since the adoption of the program, 58 dormitories with 26,987 beds have been built and put into operation.
Projects for the construction of 86 student dormitories for 39,353 places are being implemented across the republic. Of these, 44 for 19,679 places will be built on the basis of public-private partnership, 20 for 9,940 places will be built at the expense of universities and budget funds, entirely from the universities’ own funds and as part of the investment program. Currently, 53 student dormitories with 25,169 beds are under construction.
By the end of the year, the student dormitories for 18 thousand places provided for by the state program will be put into operation. This year alone, 22 student dormitories with 9,734 beds were put into operation throughout the country.
