On October 16, the opening ceremony of the National Uzbek Language Olympiad for international students studying at higher education institutions across the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at Urgench RANCH University of Technology.

The main objectives of the Olympiad are to promote the state language among international students, further increase their interest in learning Uzbek, provide young people with an opportunity to demonstrate their language proficiency and communication skills, and strengthen their respect for Uzbekistan’s national values and cultural heritage.

Nearly 100 international students representing 46 higher education institutions from various regions of Uzbekistan are taking part in the Olympiad, making it a platform to test their knowledge, skills, and determination. The competition aims to identify talented young people who have developed a strong command of the Uzbek language, recognize their achievements, and encourage their continued progress.

Following the opening ceremony, participants began competing to demonstrate their knowledge and proficiency in Uzbek. The Olympiad offers them not only an opportunity to put their language skills to the test but also a valuable chance to exchange experiences with representatives of different countries and cultures.

This national Olympiad is an important initiative aimed at enhancing the international standing of the Uzbek language, promoting its wider use and study among young people from abroad, and strengthening friendship and cooperation among educational institutions.
