During the discussions, the parties explored prospects for cooperation in higher education, scientific research, modern manufacturing technologies, and innovation, as well as issues related to introducing scientific developments into practical applications and industry.
Representatives of Uzbekistan’s leading higher education and research institutions also took part in the meeting. They presented proposals on advancing applied research, strengthening cooperation between universities and industry, improving technology transfer mechanisms, and accelerating the digital transformation of industry.
Minister Kongratbay Sharipov provided information on the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the fields of higher education, science, and innovation. He emphasized that enhancing research capacity, strengthening cooperation between universities and industry, improving technology transfer mechanisms, and developing a competitive innovation ecosystem are among the country’s key priorities.
During the negotiations, particular attention was given to establishing mobility programs for young researchers between Uzbekistan and the Fraunhofer Society, implementing joint scientific and innovation projects, advancing industrial digitalization, and developing cooperation in water technologies and green energy.
The parties also discussed prospects for establishing modern laboratories and competence centers at higher education institutions, launching new initiatives in robotics and artificial intelligence, commercializing scientific developments, and promoting the growth of spin-off companies.
