Press Tour: Student Accommodation Processes and Living Conditions Examined

Representatives of the media, journalists and bloggers visited Tashkent State University of Economics and Uzbekistan State World Languages University, where they ознакомились with the conditions created in student dormitories and the process of accommodating students.
It was noted that in recent years, the coverage rate of student accommodation has increased from 28 percent in 2017 to 58 percent in 2026. Today, state higher education institutions have 394 student dormitories, capable of accommodating more than 160,985 students.
Ahead of the new academic year, new student dormitories with a total capacity of 8,332 beds at 17 higher education institutions are being commissioned.
In addition, mechanisms are being implemented to assist students who have not been provided with dormitory accommodation by helping them find rental housing and compensating part of their rental expenses. In this regard, 169 assistance centers and 767 volunteers are providing practical support to students.
The participants of the press tour also interacted with students and familiarized themselves with the conditions created for them and preparations for the new academic year.
