The training program became one of the first practical outcomes of the cooperation memorandum signed between the two higher education institutions during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Kyrgyz Republic on July 30, 2026.
The "From Theory to Classroom" professional development program covered English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), lesson planning, assessment methodology, modern educational technologies, and teachers' professional development.
The training sessions were conducted by Dilafruz Abdumajidova and Guzal Ergasheva, associate professors of Webster University's MA TESOL program. Throughout the course, participants engaged in practical activities related to course design, the use of authentic teaching materials, the development of assessment criteria, and the application of modern educational technologies based on the SAMR and TPACK models.
In addition, the participants developed practical skills in integrating artificial intelligence tools, including MagicSchool, Curipod, Diffit, and Eduaide, into the teaching process.
During the program, the participants prepared professional portfolios and presented them during the final session. They also became acquainted with Webster University's educational environment, technical facilities, and the activities of the Novza campus.
At the end of the program, all participants received certificates.
As part of future cooperation, the two institutions plan to launch student and faculty exchange programs, organize joint seminars and conferences, and develop new TESOL-related educational modules and professional development programs.
