International Conference on the Development of Higher Education Services Begins

The conference was opened by Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Michael Houlgate, Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan, and Salim Salamah, Regional Education Adviser at the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Tashkent.
The conference is also attended by Jonathan Henick, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Uzbekistan; Minshun Xu, Head of Administration and Regional Coordinator for Central Asia at the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (UNESCO-ICHEI) from China; Aqim Emurli, leading expert in higher education quality assurance from Austria; Alibek Madibekov, Director of the National Centre for Higher Education Development of Kazakhstan; Nidjat Mammadli, Chairman of the Education Development Foundation of Azerbaijan; Munira Hanafi, Head of the Department of World Languages at the Malaysian Institute of Teacher Education; as well as heads of higher education institutions and sector specialists from Uzbekistan.
The conference participants are discussing key issues related to improving the quality of higher education, aligning educational programmes with labour market needs, introducing artificial intelligence and digital technologies into education, developing student entrepreneurship, and ensuring employment opportunities for graduates.
