“School of Rectors” Participants to Receive Professional Development Opportunities at Harvard University

The partnership is being implemented within the framework of the “School of Rectors” programme, established pursuant to Resolution No. 177 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated 16 April 2026. In accordance with the Resolution, up to 40 of the best-performing graduates selected from the 80 participants admitted to the programme each year will have the opportunity to complete advanced professional training at Harvard University and other leading higher education institutions around the world.
As part of the cooperation, participants will study international best practices in strategic university governance, academic leadership, quality assurance in higher education, research management, innovation commercialization, enhancing universities’ competitiveness in global rankings, and the transformation of higher education systems.
The programme will also provide participants with the opportunity to engage with Harvard University professors and experts, gaining first-hand insights into contemporary management approaches, higher education policy, and internationally recognized models of university development.
The agreement represents an important step toward developing a new generation of university leaders in Uzbekistan equipped with modern leadership competencies, a strong understanding of international best practices, and strategic vision. It will contribute to strengthening the institutional capacity of higher education institutions, improving the quality of education and governance, and advancing the country's higher education system in line with international standards.
