Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan

As part of the program, the Uzbek–Korean Experts Forum was organized, where ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s higher education, scientific research, and innovation sectors were presented. The participants also discussed promising areas for future cooperation.

In addition, during a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea, the parties discussed student exchange programs, the establishment of joint academic departments, and the training of specialists in urban planning, engineering, and artificial intelligence through international educational programs. The sides agreed to develop a cooperation memorandum in these areas and prepare it for signing at the ministerial level.

During negotiations with representatives of Sejong University, it was noted that students from Uzbekistan constitute the largest group among the university’s international student population. The parties also agreed to launch short-term research internships for young scholars in the fields of artificial intelligence and urban planning during 2026–2027.

The visit marked an important step toward strengthening the partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea in higher education, science, and innovation, promoting new joint initiatives, and expanding the scope of academic cooperation.
