Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The parties discussed the results of cooperation between Elsevier and the Ministry, statistics on the use of Elsevier platforms, and also got acquainted with analytics on publication activity and indicators of improving the quality of publications of scientists in Uzbekistan.

As a result of the work carried out within the framework of the agreement signed in 2023 between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and Elsevier on the use of the Science Direct platform services, a total of 157,146 articles and books were downloaded by professors, researchers and students of 80 higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan in 2023.

The Deputy Minister expressed interest in cooperation with Elsevier in such issues as extending the contract for the use of the Science Direct platform, improving the quality of scientific articles by Uzbek scientists. - Increasing the scale of publication, the results of scientific work, in prestigious Q1-level journals, as well as increasing the number of our local journals with international status and their indexing in international scientific and technical databases are among our priorities, - said O. Makhkamov.

The parties agreed to discuss further steps to develop cooperation at subsequent meetings.
