Cooperation to Be Established Between Uzbekistan and Austria in Hospitality Personnel Training

The document was signed by Ulugbek Khusainov, Director of the Agency for Management Effectiveness under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Kungirotboy Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations; the Agency for Vocational Education; and Heinz Boyer, Chairman of IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences.
The memorandum is aimed at training qualified personnel who meet international standards for the hospitality, tourism management, hotel management, and service sectors, enhancing the institutional capacity of educational institutions, and modernizing the vocational and higher education systems.
Within the framework of the document, there are plans to transform existing vocational education institutions in the cities of Bukhara and Namangan into international hotel management schools based on a joint Austrian-Uzbek initiative. Furthermore, the implementation of consulting and design work with the participation of Austrian experts, and the organization of professional development programs for Uzbek educators and specialists are envisioned.
The parties also agreed to develop diploma and academic programs in Hospitality Management in accordance with the requirements of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), and to hold conferences, forums, and symposiums on introducing innovative approaches in the fields of tourism and hospitality.
The memorandum is concluded for a period of three years, and as part of its execution, close cooperation is planned to be established among government agencies, higher education institutions, vocational education organizations, and industry representatives.
